Pastor Jerry & First Lady Mary Parker
Pastor Jerry L. Parker was born and raised in Windsor, North Carolina. He attended Sandy Point Baptist Church as a child, where he served on the usher board, sang on the choir, and attended Sunday School & Youth Bible Study. It is also where he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. In 1971, he moved to Baltimore, Maryland. In later years, he joined Ebenezer Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Fred Hall. In 1993, under the leadership of the late Pastor Emeritus Edward White Sr., Pastor Parker was ordained as a Deacon at Ebenezer Baptist Church. He served as Chairman of the Deacon Board for six and a half years.
Staying true to what his parents instilled in him a child and true to the Word of God, Pastor Parker heard the call to preach. In 1999, he received his license to preach after preaching his initial sermon at Ebenezer Baptist Church. In the Fall of 2001, Pastor Parker attended the Baltimore School of the Bible. He was ordained through the Pastors & Ministers Conference of Baltimore, Maryland, where he served on several committees. He has also attended the Maryland Bible College and Seminary. Pastor Parker plans to further his education. In December of 2008, God was ready for a transition and exalted Pastor Parker to the postion of Assistant Pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Pastor Emeritus Edward White Sr.
Since his installation as Assistant Pastor, Pastor Parker has had an integral impact on Ebenezer Baptist Church. He has ministered both within the walls of the church and through outreach in the community. As a result, on October 31, 2014, Pastor Jerry L. Parker was installed as Senior Pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church. Pastor Parker is a man who truly walks by faith and not by sight, not allowing what he sees to hinder what he believes; knowing and understanding that it is God who makes the leader, not man.
Happily married to his loving wife of 32 years, Lady Mary Parker, they have been blessed with ten children. God being his first love and passion, Pastor Parker stresses the importance of family and to love each other as Christ loves the church.
With the guidance of the Holy Spirit, Pastor Parker continues to seek and hear from God as he leads Ebenezer Baptist Church to the next level in Christ. He patterns his life by the scripture found in Revelation 2:10, "be thou faithful until death and I will give thee a crown of life."
